I Heart Bill W.

I visited the homestead of Bill W. yesterday. It is here in Vermont and a short drive from where I was staying the weekend. It is a beautiful home of recovery now owned by a non-profit - run and
maintained by volunteers. I was so overcome with emotion. It was a beautiful, personal moment of deep, deep gratitude and an incredible love I cannot describe. Other than the person who gave you life, who could you love more than the person who saved it? Thank you Bill W.
I love you with all my heart.

The Egg Thing

The old walk down memory lane

Going through piles, bags, albums and shoeboxes full of old pictures can be fun. You can do if for hours if you're in the right mood. In fact, the time goes by so quickly you don't even realize it's way past your bedtime. Now go lay down and try and sleep. Good luck with that. And the dreams! I was up every hour or two ALL NIGHT LONG. When going through your old photo's, take caution!

I bow to the Rock Gods at TERRAPIN

I just got news that the Rhythm Devils have been added to the line-up at this
summer's Gathering of the Vibes Festival. So, naturally, now that we will have Bob, Phil and Mickey there the Heads will be shouting out for Phil.
All I can really say to that is
"PHIL!"

Vince Welnick Dies at age 51

I am deeply saddened by this news and thank my fellow Deadhead bloggers for their posts.

Sad news for Deadheads everywhere today as we mourn the death of Vince Welnick, the last keyboardist for The Grateful Dead. According to the Mercury News, an unofficial spokesman at the Welnick home said that "It looks like he took his own life.'' If that is true, then this tragedy is even greater in magnitude. Vince admitted that he fell into a deep depression after Jerry's death in '95. Apparently, he never fully recovered, and as a result, could not go on in this world any longer.

Along with Ben, I send my condolences to his friends and family.
