Do you REALLY know what you're eating?

Do yourself and your family a favor. Do a google search for "truth in labeling, gmo" and just take a gander at what you see. Never mind. Here it is. Now, you have to go to the bottom of PAGE 2 to see anything about labeling GMO products here in the US. While many countries have banned GMO seeds altogether, here we are just putting them on our shelves and not even thinking people have the right to know about it! Many European countries restrict GMO foods and require clear labeling.
Please go here and check out the list of foods with genetically modified ingredients. It's astounding. Let's wake up and demand truth in labeling! And I will say it again. Please say NO to GMO's!

*It should be noted that the first US reference to GMO labeling in that google search comes from Vermont who has mandated the labeling of all GMO seeds sold to our state. The first state in the nation to do so. Thank you Vermont!

Time to get your mojo workin'

Mojotek of Gangsta's and Hugs went and tagged me back, the gangsta that he is. That's OK. I can deal.

List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they’re any good, but they must be songs you’re really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your blog along with your seven songs. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to.

Unbroken Chain - The Dead, 03/19/95
Currently making a copy of the breakout cassette for a friend, I realize over and over how much I love this song. Almost 11 years after this show and I still cannot listen to it without crying. God, I miss my tribe.

Layla - The Allman Brother's Band, 08/09/03
Just received a copy of this from a friend at work and it really rocks.

Memphis Blues - The Dead, 10/09/89
Has got to be one of Bob Weir's best

Devil's and Dust - Bruce
Because he's The Boss

Box of Rain - The Dead
Always into this song. Always...............

One Clear Moment - Little Feat
I don't know why really but I find myself listening to this quite a bit lately. Maybe I need a clear moment!

Skating Away - Tull
Because I'm listening to it on the radio right now!

I have tagged 7 Vermont Bloggers. Holla!
Vlad at Jay.Blog.
Jack at McCreativity
Suzanne at Queen of Fucking Everything
Aloofdork who's name is the same (or not)
Tom at Hallucinogenius (who doesn't play well with others)
Janet at Cogger Corner
Holly at Holly's Cafe

Rock On!

The Zodiac Killer Freaks me out!

So Mark tagged me. Here we go....................

1: Black and White or Color; how do you prefer your movies?
Color except colorize old black and whites. I would still prefer them in the original state. The colors just don't look real to me.

2: What is the one single subject that bores you to near-death?
Auto mechanics

3: MP3s, CDs, Tapes or Records: what is your favorite medium for prerecorded music?
CD's.

4: You are handed one first class trip plane ticket to anywhere in the world and ten million dollars cash. All of this is yours provided that you leave and not tell anyone where you are going ... Ever. This includes family, friends, everyone. Would you take the money and ticket and run?
Only if I were seen on America's Most Wanted, seriously!

5: Seriously, what do you consider the world's most pressing issue now?
Overpopulation. It seems we can't find enough ways to kill each other anymore. War, starvation, disease, murder? Take your pick and the list keeps growing.

6: How would you rectify the world's most pressing issue?
Cut back on reproduction. For crying out loud, adopt! How many unwanted, uncared for children are there in this world!

7: You are given the chance to go back and change one thing in your life; what would that be?
I would have planned for early retirement.

8: You are given the chance to go back and change one event in world history, what would that be?
9/11

9: A night at the opera, or a night at the Grand Ole' Opry --Which do you choose?
I'd like to try the Grand Ole' Opry. I've done the other so it would be nice to experience both, then choose a preference

10: What is the one great unsolved crime of all time you'd like to solve?
The Zodiac Killer - the guy just freaks me out and I don't think he's been caught. Speculation is he is either dead or incarcerated for another crime

11: One famous author can come to dinner with you. Who would that be, and what would you serve for the meal?
David Sedaris because I think he is hysterical and there would never be a dull moment.

12: You discover that John Lennon was right, that there is no hell below us, and above us there is only sky -- what's the first immoral thing you might do to celebrate this fact?
Like Mark, my taggee, I don't believe there is a hell so this fact wouldn't change anything for me.

So, if I must (and I think I must) I am tagging four blogs from the battling grounds -
Miss Gidget Bones of Gidget Bones Diary
Chad from Word Up
Lydia who owns Lydia Finch's Blog
Mojotek of Gangsta's and Hugs
Why these four? Or you may be asking "why me"? Well, because you are all battling now and all seem like really good sports!

More Battle Drama!

Folks, get a grip on all the BE battling thing. Friends support friends, Battle of the Blogs not withstanding. And try and gather the facts before you post and accuse people. It's just not right.
While battling tonight, I found the post linked below.
And I had to respond in her blogger comment section as she leaves no other way to communicate. It is foul play, not giving a person a way to defend themselves.

Hello Dawn. I am sorry you were mislead by a disgruntled blogger because I suspect your infomation came from someone who was once in our circle of friends. People can do mean, ugly things and it looks as if that's what happened.
Many bloggers communicate and support each other and it is not uncommon for them to vote in these battles.
None of my friends considers this cheating because quite frankly it is not. Friends supporting each other is not a non-Christian thing to do and you shouldn't suggest that without knowing the facts.
Good luck in your battle.
Peace....................
(I would have e-mailed you but couldn't find a link to an address and you don't allow comments so gave me no chance to defend myself or my friends.)

The post appears here.

And Ms. Dawn, here's a little back atcha that a friend made for me!

UPDATE - The blogger has removed her page from blogland so the link to original post can no longer be viewed.

MORE UPDATE
- Since the blogger has removed her page and therefore the post (she could have just deleted the post) I felt I should remove the parody link that I posted in response. Fair is fair.

Of course you know I believe in Love

But if you're not in to all the plush teddy bears, perfect red roses, blah, blah, blah and in the need of an e-card for your Valentine, I highly recommend this site. I'll admit I sent one to my Valentine and he seemed to enjoy it. Unusual? Twisted? Maybe we are. These cards most definitely are. And I know there is more than a handful of you out there who come around here once in a while that will truly appreciate them! Enjoy and Happy Valentine's Day!

Love, Love, Love,
Helen

Let's hear it for TERRAPIN!

Inspiration, move me brightly
Light the song with sense of colour
Hold away despair
More than this I will not ask
Faced with mysteries dark and vast
Statements just seem vain at last
Some rise, some fall, some climb
To get to Terrapin

Counting stars by candlelight
Some are dim but one is bright
The spiral light on Venus
Rising first and shining best
Oh, from the north-west corner
Of a brand new crescent moon
Where crickets and cicadas sing
A rare and different tune
Terrapin Station
In the shadow of the moon
Terrapin Station
And I know we'll be there soon

I can't figure out
If it's the end or beginning
But the train's put it brakes on
And the whistle is screaming
Terrapin

Hey, what's a girl to do when she's home alone? Consider the alternatives!
